Nowadays, a lot of people understand the importance of a good skincare regimen.
~Some~ of us, however, do not get the hype around it. Well, we’re here to discuss how you too should get a skincare regimen because you’re missing out on so much if you’re not and you would be doing your skin a favor if you have a regimen. So, without further ado, let’s get to it.
#1: Sleep Schedules Affect The Way You Look:
I have the consistency of water when it comes to maintaining my sleep schedules. That’s right, it’s almost non-existent. Many women that I have met too have complained that not getting enough sleep is making their skin look ‘older’.
This is proven to be true too. When you sleep, it’s not just your mind and body that get the rest, your skin gets the needed rest too. When you don’t get enough sleep, your skin gets tired too.
This can make you look further tired and dull. Also: not getting enough sleep at night can fasten the aging process, making your skin to wrinkle and lose its youthfulness faster.
#2: Your Stress and Work Environment Do No Good To Your Skin:
If you have the typical 9-5 job, chances are that you’re trapped inside your office for almost 8 hours or more. This also means that you are trapped inside an A/C environment for that long. This can make your skin sensitive to temperature changes and skincare products too. When your skin is exposed to cold temperature for longer hours consistently, your skin gradually loses its mechanism to adjust in various temperature. If your skin experiences boils in Summer, acne in Rainy season and dry patches in Winter, this could mean that your skin is slowly losing its natural capacity to adjust to temperature and climate changes. Also: Working constantly can make your brain work too hard, causing your body to feel stressed. This can affect your skin too, making it look dull, rough, and lifeless.
#3: Not Drinking Enough Water:
You can have the best skincare routine in the whole world, but if you do not drink enough water, your skin actually starts to break out. Water is a natural cleanser. If the toxins in your body are not pushed out of you because you’re not giving your body the required amount of water, the repercussions can include dehydration of the skin, trapped heat in your skin (leading to dullness and small boils and bumps), dryness, loss of moisture, malnourished skin and much more. There are no ‘x glasses’ of water to drink for everyone. Everyone’s body is different and takes water differently, which is why drink water as you need.
Now that you know what to do, get on with your skincare regimen and do not miss out on the above things. Drink enough water, try to sleep and wake up with a consistency as much as you can and bust your stress by indulging in self-care.
