We all love to use skincare products and that’s a fact. Just the thought of coming home after a long day and washing off the day’s stress, and applying a soothing moisturizer is an experience that words can’t describe enough. We feel our skin absorbing the products we put on, and a feeling of contentment that lingers once we’re done with the routine.
No matter how much you love your skin care products, your products have to love your skin back. If they don’t, they're not going to have much of an effect, and the compounding damage to your skin will continue month after month.
To make the products work for us, we need to put actual effort into choosing the right products. While choosing the right product is a huge task, the process does not end there. Here are the rules that you need to keep in your mind for a skincare that would actually work for you.
- Your skin needs the attention every single day.
- You need to take a few seconds out of your life, every day, to make your skin look great
There are two ways where you’re royally being inconsistent with your skincare regimen
This is a case, where I and a lot of my friends have been too guilty of doing. Something ~new~ is always exciting and that’s why we want to indulge in it. There’s a new product coming into the market and we want to benefit from ALL of those products. Not all the times do these products work for your skin the way you want them to.
When you use the right products but with no consistency:
This is the part where you’re finally doing something right for your skin but you’re being lazy about it and just ‘kind-of-sort-of’ doing it. Here, you know what works for you yet you could not find the time or the energy to do it.
It’s okay to miss out on a day or two. It’s human to do so. However, if your intervals between each application are way too drastic, chances are:
1) You’re not really following a regimen and
2) You will not get the full benefits of the product you’ve chosen.
It is easy for us to get way too excited about the products that we’re buying and when we finally do have them, we tend to not use them. Well, use them.
If they work for you, they work for you. If they don’t, you know what to do- switch to customized skincare.
